In this workshop, participants will sow a seed with materials provided and braid a carry handle for their pot to transport home. Hayes’s work is inspired by her ancestral stories of braiding seeds into hair during the transatlantic slave trade. The artist encourages participants to discuss their own stories of movement through different landscapes across time.
