Hilum Earth is a community-rooted project dedicated to exploring the connections between plants, people, and care through research, workshops, and creative practice. This is both a living archive and an evolving research project— 1

A space where plants are understood as carriers of memory, guides to ancestral wisdom, and tools for tracing ethnoecological histories across time and place. This space unfolds through research, archiving, workshops, herbal offerings, and artistic inquiry, with the vision of one day cultivating a physical space of land that the community can collectively nurture.

Our offerings—herbal supports such as tea blends, tinctures, flower essences, and botanically dyed textiles help sustain this ecosystem. Workshops and community programs extend this care outward, weaving knowledge, creativity, and ecological stewardship into shared experience.





                      Hilum Earth 3The name Hilum refers to the scar left on a seed where it was once attached to its pod ~ a mark of memory and origin. 


Like seeds, we hold imprints of origin as we move into new lands and seasons. Hilum Earth honours this passage from seed to soil, from memory to becoming.

                       Just as seeds carry traces of where they have been before finding new ground, Hilum Earth seeks to hold, honor, and share the imprints of ancestral and ecological memory—so that they may be sown again in new hands, times, and seasons. .
